Empathy
Empathy is essential to forming and sustaining human relationships - it is vital for success.
How do businesses go about building empathy? They create a culture - often seen on companies websites as a list of common and shared values. The issue is, companies fall short on ways of exercising these values amongst staff. It is an issue keeping employees engaged with a mission statement if they don't continually have chances to exercise these values.
Given these opportunities, empathy can grow within a business and ultimately lead to a whole host of other benefits including increased productivity, engagement, profits and retention.
'Overwhelmingly, empathy tops the list as the most critical driver of overall performance.'
